Phase 2: Days 3 to 7

Phase 3: Long-Term Maturation

While soft tissue healing (epithelialization) typically concludes within 14-21 days, underlying osseous (bone) regeneration or osseointegration (in the case of implants) requires 3 to 6 months. This biological timeline cannot be artificially accelerated. Premature occlusal loading or severe microbiological insult (such as smoking, which radically decreases micro-vascular blood flow) can arrest this maturation phase, leading to fibrous encapsulation rather than true bone integration.
