About Dr. Gvozden
Dr. Jovan Gvozden is a general dentist at Aloha Dental Specialty Center in Beaverton, Oregon. His training spans two continents and three decades. Dr. Gvozden graduated from the School of Dentistry in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1979, then completed advanced surgical training in Sarajevo and Belgrade — including training in head and neck reconstruction, trauma, infection management, and complex extractions.
After 15 years of practice in former Yugoslavia, Dr. Gvozden moved to the United States in 1995, where he integrated into the oral surgery department at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry. He then earned his US Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Gvozden has practiced general dentistry in Oregon's west Portland region, including Hillsboro and Beaverton. His clinical focus within general dentistry includes full-mouth extractions, alveoplasty, bone grafting, ridge augmentation, and dental implants — procedures that draw directly on his surgical background.
